It’s finally getting warmer here in the UK, meaning more of us will be cracking open the windows to let in some fresh air. However, there’s one common problem that can plague our homes in the summer – bugs and other pests.

You’re more likely to see spider and insects scuttling around your house when the weather is warmer, and it’s hard to keep them out. But according to cleaning experts on social media, there’s one simple solution that can get rid of cobwebs and deter pests from coming back. And even better, all you need is two common cleaning products to do so.

The pros at Cleanipedia have lifted the lid on how to repel spiders and bugs from your home this summer by tackling them at the source – your windows.

This is where they are most likely to enter and start building their webs, so it only makes sense to focus on this area if you want to get rid of them. In a recent TikTok video, the experts hailed one simple solution that not only gets rid of pests but stops them from coming back, and also leaves your windows sparkling clean.

All you need to do for a bug-free home this summer is mix some dish soap with white vinegar in a dishwashing brush and use it to scrub away at the outside of your windows, making sure to clean off any cobwebs that might be hiding there.

You can also use this to clean the glass, as it’s gentle but tough on streaks and stains.

Then, rinse it away with water, before spraying some extra white vinegar on to the glass and window ledge.

This natural cleaning product is a great way to repel any insects because of its strong scent that they hate. They’re unlikely to try and enter your home once you’ve sprayed a bit of this on your windows.

It doesn’t kill them but instead safely keeps them away, and it’s cheap too, with a bottle costing as little as 35p from Tesco.
