The smallest airport in Europe with just three flights a day | World | News

This European airport is one of the world’s smallest and its so small only three flights a day depart from there.

A TikToker showed a clip of them at the airport waiting for their flight but the usual business of an airport is nowhere to be seen in the clip.

Instead, the airport is empty with barely any people around at all.

Ostrava airport, in the Czech Republic, gets around two to three daily commercial flights.

During the off season, from October to April, it is usually empty, says the TikToker.

The airport is only usually busy in the summer season when flights operate on behalf of travel agencies.

If you’re hoping to head to this airport then the most popular flights which run from there are to London – Ryanair flies there every two days.

Ostrava airport is also known as Ostrava-Mosnov International Airport and it is the second largest airport in the Czech Republic.

It is an international airport and serves the area of Moravia-Silesia, Czechia – the airport has non-stop passenger flights scheduled to eight destinations in six countries.

At present, there is one domestic flight offered from Ostrava.

The airport is located just over three hours away from Prague and is also situated near to the Polish border.

Ostrava is known for its architecture, historic sites such as museums and its industrial heritage.

If you are flying to or from this airport, you should stop off at the Dolní Vítkovice. This historic point of interest was once one of the largest coal and iron production sites in Europe.

Today it is a cultural heritage area representing one of the most impressive examples of 19th-century industrial architecture.

After 162 years of operation, the Czech Republic’s “Iron Heart” has become a National Monument with furnaces, coke ovens, and brick buildings converted into museums and art spaces, says Lonely Planet.

If you’re passing through Europe’s smallest airport, it is a one of a kind structure worth seeing.
