Meghan Markle shared a new message to mark Earth Day 2025 just hours after the Prince and Princess of Wales shared theirs. The Duchess of Sussex took to her official Instagram account on Tuesday night to upload a new story from her garden in Montecito.
Meghan showed her 2.8 million followers a glimpse of her home and the “best sound to wake up to”. In the short video, the sounds of birds could be heard while the duchess showed a scenic view of her garden. She accompanied the clip with a message: “About this morning… The best sound to wake up to. Happy Earth Day.”
Meanwhile, Meghan’s brand, As Ever, also marked the day by sharing a new picture of the Duchess.
On its official Instagram page, the brand uploaded a new picture showing the duchess watering strawberry plants, accompanied with a message: “Cheers to the beauty of the garden! Happy Earth day, everyone.”
Her and Prince Harry’s charity, the Archewell Foundation, also marked Earth Day – celebrated on April 22 – with a new statement on their website.
Its message read: “Today marks Earth Day, a global effort to raise awareness of the importance of environmentalism, and uplift efforts to combat the climate crisis.
“Earth Day is a time to honour the planet and highlight the importance of sustainability and environmental conservation.
“The Archewell Foundation encourages everyone to take action in their communities to strive for a healthier planet and a greener Earth for future generations. By showing up in our local communities, we can have a global impact.”
Earth Day’s 2025 theme is “Our Power, Our Planet” calling for everyone to unite around renewable energy.
It comes hours after the Prince and Princess of Wales marked the day by sharing Earthshot’s own message for the annual celebration.
The Earthshot Prize is an initiative launched in 2020 by Prince William, which focuses on environmentalism and awards five winners every year for their efforts to save the planet.
William and Kate took to their social media to reshare the message, which this year highlighted some of its winners’ efforts to promote clean energy.
The message read: “Spend #EarthDay with @RobertIrwin and an #EarthshotPrize Winner who is bringing endangered animals back from the brink of extinction.”
Elsewhere, the awards marked the day by saying: “With this year’s Earth Day theme ‘Our Power, Our Planet’, we’re reminded that clean energy is more than a resource: it’s a path to equity, opportunity, and resilience.”
