Kyren Wilson and Barry Hawkins will compete for the German Masters crown today after a stunning week of snooker action at the Berlin Tempodrom.
The two finalists both claimed 6-2 victories over Xiao Guodong and Yuan Sijun on Saturday, while Wilson also won a repeat of the World Championship final against Jak Jones earlier in the week.
Wilson is aiming for his third title of the season as world champion, adding to his Xi’an Grand Prix and Northern Ireland Open wins. Hawkins is contesting his second final of the campaign, having lost out to Judd Trump in the UK Championship showpiece.
“It is great to be in the final, great to be in this arena and to play in front of all these fans,” said Hawkins after defeating Yuan. “I’m really looking forward to the final. Overall, I think I played pretty well. I think.
“Kyren is one of the players of the season, he is world champion and has been so consistent. I’m going to have to be at the top of my game, for sure.”
