A Utah mom accused of kidnapping her four children and taking them to Europe because she was convinced the world was ending has been arrested after the kids were found dumped in an orphanage.
Elleshia Anne Seymour, 35, was arrested in Croatia, the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s office confirmed to Fox 13 on Monday, almost two months after the Doomsday mom allegedly absconded with the children.
Her ex-husband, Kendall Seymour has flown to Europe to rescue his kids — who are there with another American child also taken with them, he wrote in an update on his fundraiser on Sunday.
“The kids are trapped in Croatia in a state-run orphanage. We are in the country, trying to get the kids out of the custody of the local government,” wrote Kendall, who is the father of three of the children.
“We have to hire Croatian lawyers who specialize in child abduction, create and submit Hague Convention applications, hire court-approved translators, and extend our stay here by an unknown amount of time,” Kendall said as he sought to raise $100,000.
“Who knows how much money is going to be needed for therapy for the five of us, after this is all over,” he added.
The ex-husband added that a fifth American child, whom Elleshia flew out with to Europe, is also now stuck in the same orphanage.
“There is also a fifth American child in this children’s home. My children were traveling with him and his mother. The fifth child’s situation is even more difficult than my own kids’ status,” Kendall said.
“We would like to help him as much as possible – his situation is going to need more legal help and strategy than ours,” he said.
The fifth child has not been publicly identified, and it isn’t clear what his relationship is with the Utah mom.
Elleshia, who revealed her doomsday obsession on her secret TikTok account, was taken into custody in the Croatian city of Dubrovnik on Jan. 16, according to the DA’s office.
The mom, who wrote a sinister to-do list before absconding with her children, boarded a flight from Salt Lake City to Amsterdam on Nov. 29, without telling her two ex-husbands.
On Dec. 10, an endangered and missing advisory was issued for Landon Hal Seymour, 11; Levi Parker Seymour, 8; Hazel Rae Seymour, 7; and Jacob Kurt Brady, 3; by the Utah Department of Public Safety.
Elleshia was charged last month with four counts of “Custodial Interference – Remove Child From State,” a third-degree felony, by the DA’s office.
No timeline has yet been given for her future court dates or possible extradition to the US.
