The huge mega-city that’s an ‘infrastructure masterpiece’ on a tropical island | World | News

The world’s population is constantly growing, and as that happens more and more mega-cities are popping up all over the place. Asia in particular is a hotspot for gigantic cities with Tokyo topping the lists as the largest in the world with nearly 40 million people. But there is another mega-city relatively nearby that also deserves attention.

Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia and now home to more than nine million people, according to the World Population Review. In 1950, the population was just over 260,000, meaning it has grown by more than 3,300% in 75 years.

It’s often described as an “infrastructure masterpiece” because of its well-planned transport network, modern buildings and efficient layout.

The city sits on the Malay Peninsula, just across the water from the island of Sumatra, and has a warm tropical climate all year round.

Kuala Lumpur is known for its easy-to-use public transport, including trains, buses and pedestrian walkways.

It also has one of the busiest airports in Southeast Asia, which connects the city to hundreds of destinations.

One of its most famous sights is the Petronas Twin Towers, which were once the tallest buildings in the world.

They remain the tallest twin towers and attract visitors from all over. Another major landmark is Merdeka 118, which was completed recently and is now the second tallest building in the world.

The city is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Asia. Many people come to see the skyline, try the food, and visit cultural and religious landmarks.

Visitors can explore colourful temples and mosques, walk around the historic Merdeka Square, or climb the stairs at the famous Batu Caves.

There’s also a patch of rainforest in the city centre called the KL Forest Eco Park, where people can walk among the trees and use a hanging bridge.

Food is a big part of life in Kuala Lumpur. Jalan Alor is a popular street packed with food stalls serving everything from noodles and satay to desserts and fresh fruit juices.

There are also large shopping centres like Pavilion KL and Suria KLCC, which sit right next to the Petronas towers.

All in all, Kuala Lumpur is a busy and modern city that’s full of things to see and do.
