Ozzy Osbourne's bittersweet final comment to son Jack before his tragic death

Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne joined his bandmates for one final gig earlier this month in his hometown of Birmingham. The Prince of Darkness died just two weeks later, aged 76, leaving his family and fans devastated.

In his final weeks, Ozzy was surrounded by his loved ones, and his son Jack shared a touching insight into their relationship. It’s been reported that Jack told Ozzy about the rave reviews he’d been getting about his Villa Park comeback concert, where all the proceeds went to Parkinson’s UK, as the musician suffered from the disease.

In classic Ozzy style, the Crazy Train singer had a cheeky response and told Jack: “Lot of f***ing good that does me. I’m retired now!” Opening up to Daily Mail after Ozzy’s final show, Jack also shared: “Dad’s great and his mood’s really high. He’s in a really good spot right now.”

Addressing his father’s ageing, he added: “Listen, everyone gets old, everyone slows down as you age – it’s part of the journey. I just try and support him as much as I can. We all do.” He also said people had been reaching out to the family following the legendary concert.

Ozzy has not been able to perform for many years due to ill health, so the Birmingham concert was a huge deal for the singer as well as fans of Black Sabbath who had been waiting years for the band to perform live on stage.

Tragically, Jack and his siblings had to release a statement confirming Ozzy’s death on Tuesday, which read: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.

“He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family’s privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.”

According to reports, an air ambulance was flown to his mansion on Tuesday morning, and paramedics spent two hours fighting to save him.

Ozzy’s cause of death still remains unknown at present, and a date for his funeral is yet to be confirmed.
