Newborn baby decapitated and dismembered before being dumped in bin | World | News

A newborn baby was found decapitated and dismembered in a rubbish bin by horrified workers as police launch an urgent appeal for the mum.

The baby’s remains were discovered in several plastic bags at a Madrid recycling centre in Spain, shocking a worker at the Loeches rubbish plant who came across the gruesome find.

“Operation Natal” has been initiated by police in the city, determined to “get justice” for the tiny victim. The investigation suggests that the infant girl was born alive before being horrifically killed and her body discarded in bins.

The grim timeline of the crime began on December 12 last year, but details have just come to light following forensic analysis. A K-9 agent named Dylan, from the Central Cynological Service specialising in biological remain detection, assisted in uncovering fragments of the baby at the waste facility.

In tracing the origins of the refuse, detectives deduced that it was deposited in several bags into a Vallecas neighbourhood container on the night in question.

DNA examination of the newborn’s body has indicated she likely had Latin American or subtropical heritage, suggesting the mother may be from a South American nation. Consequently, the Civil Guard is seeking public assistance in Puente de Vallecas for any information about a local woman who was pregnant in the latter part of the past year.

Authorities believe that the approximately 40-year-old woman was behind the incident.

“The investigations are still open, which is why citizen collaboration is requested for the total clarification of the criminal act. Anyone who could have any information of interest on the matter, contact the Civil Guard,” declared a representative.

“From the investigations carried out so far, it has been possible to determine that the remains would correspond to a female baby and that she was born alive, there are indications that would point to her death being of a violent nature.”
