The pretty seaside town that’s ‘a little slice of heaven’ | Travel News | Travel

A coastal UK town is one loved by many Brits and it’s even been called a “little slice of heaven” by one visitor. Wales is home to some of the UK’s most beautiful scenery with a range of stunning coastal landscapes and incredible green countryside.

Aberdyfi is one of the prettiest little seaside resorts in Wales and is where the River Dyfi meets the waters of Cardigan Bay. The village was founded around the shipbuilding industry and has sandy beaches, watersports and colourful houses. If you’re wondering what to do in the area, there’s a range of popular activities to do and places to see.

Crabbing off the harbour is a popular activity for visiting families. Buckets, crab-lines and bait are available from lots of shops in the village. You’ll also find a range of water sports including paddleboarding and kitesurfing.

One visitor on Tripadvisor said: “A little slice of heaven. Wonderful beach which we love, we have been holidaying here for 5 consecutive Summers and seen the beach in all its glory, from blazing sunshine to misty fog, high winds and rain!”

Another penned: “It’s the beginning of the season, not too many people around, therefore not crowded. Beautiful sand beach dog area well signposted.

“Not all dog owners abiding by the spirit of the rules! Whole area was immaculate, from the beach to the roads and shop/house fronts. The drive down through the countryside was also stunning.”

Keen hikers will love the beautiful coastal walks near Aberdyfi, there are miles of dunes of shorelines to be explored, as well a good variety of countryside walks for those wanting to explore the area’s greenery.

Visit Wales says: “Aberdyfi used to be a working port but today the sailing craft concentrate on leisure and pleasure.

“Aberdyfi is a busy sailing and watersports centre. You can enjoy crab fishing from the jetty, scenic boat trips run from the harbour, sailing, kayaking, kite-flying, dog walking and sand castle building, and all with great views of Cardigan Bay.”

If you’re travelling by train, the nearest train stations are Parc Yr Ysgol in Aberdovey or Aberdovey’s main train station.

If you’re looking for a peaceful place to enjoy a break, Aberdyfi is a pretty and scenic place to relax this summer.
