SAN JOSE, Calif. — Just eight wide receivers, most recently Cooper Kupp with the Rams in 2022, have won Super Bowl MVP.

It is an award that has been reserved 34 times for the quarterback, but do not bet against Seahawks thoroughbred Jaxon Smith-Njigba becoming the ninth.

“Oh, I think he has a shot,” former Ohio State receivers coach Brian Hartline, now the head coach at the University of South Florida, told The Post. “Absolutely. 

“For us, we took a lot of pride at Ohio State on providing value for the quarterback. By doing so, he provided value to the O-line because the faster we get open, the faster the ball leaves the quarterback’s hand, the faster the O-line is safe.
