Zara Tindall channels Princess Kate with chic suit and fans applaud her one minor tweak

Zara Tindall appeared to channel her inner Princess Kate during an outing in Cheltenham last week.

As she stepped out on the first day of the Cheltenham Races, Zara stunned in a navy houndstooth-print wide-leg suit.

Zara chose to wear Veronica Beard’s Wilshire dickey jacket with their Tonelli trousers in multi blue. To accessorise, the royal opted to carry the Lottle pillow black quilted lambskin clutch by Aspinal of London and LK Bennett’s Sierra pointed-toe suede heels.

Much to the delight of royal fans, Zara appeared to have, although opting for Princess Kate’s love of suits, made the look her own and removed the belt.

Fans took to @royalfashionpolice’s recent post on Instagram to express their love for Zara’s recent look.

One royal fan wrote: “Love this suit and I’m so glad she removed the belt on the jacket.”

Another wrote: “Like others, I’m glad [that] she took off the belt. This is not my favourite Cheltenham look from her but it does very nicely, looks warm, comfortable and appropriate for a day at the races and being around the horses.”

A third fan wrote: “I think this is a great suit! Good fit for her.”

The royal also accessorised her blonde locks with a purple headband – which also proved popular amongst fans.

The Princess of Wales has opted to channel an array of suits to various engagements this year, with them seemingly becoming a firm fashion favourite for the royal.

According to one fashion expert, Princess Kates’s newfound preference may be a little more than just a style choice.

Style expert Miranda Holder previously told Express.co.uk: “[Kate’s] wardrobe has adjusted to suit her ever-evolving role within the family, and its latest incarnation has garnered much attention, but perhaps not for the reasons you would expect.

“It was announced earlier this year that the Palace would no longer release details of what and who Kate is wearing, most probably in an attempt to focus the worlds media on the important work the Royals conduct rather than their fashion choices, but despite this recent lack of information, Kate is still hailed as a fashion icon globally, with the ‘Kate effect’ bringing good fortune to the brands she champions.”

She added: “Perhaps this is why Kate’s image seems to have evolved yet again, with the Princess wearing more and more suits in her latest role, and wearing them exclusively for Royal Appointments since she returned from the summer break.”

Kate wore a wide-leg maroon suit for an engagement in connection to her own project, Shaping Us, last month.

As she took to the stage to give her landmark speech at the Shaping Us National Symposium event, Kate styled her suit with a White Shirt Bodysuit from Holland Cooper, Gianvito Rossi suede pumps and earrings from Shyla London.
