Zara Tindall turned heads today as she made an appearance at Royal Ascot alongside her husband, Mike Tindall. The Tindalls appeared to be in good spirits as they made their way into the third day, Ladies’ Day, of the five-day meet in Berkshire.
They arrived in the fourth carriage of today’s royal procession, which included the King and Queen, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Princess Anne with Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence and Princess Beatrice with her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. Zara looked stunning in a black and white shirt dress by Laura Green and a colour-matching hat. She accessorised the look with a pair of black and pearl earrings by Laurence Coste and a black clutch.
She also sported a pair of sunglasses to shield her eyes from the glorious sunshine. Mike followed his wife’s lead by opting for a typically dapper morning suit and top hat with a checked tie.
The royal’s outfit bore a striking resemblance to what Audrey Hepburn’s character, Eliza Doolittle, wore in the 1964 film, My Fair Lady.
Zara and Mike were snapped packing on the PDA during the meet, with England’s ex-rugby union star being pictured lovingly holding his wife’s hand, while Zara was seen softly placing her hand on his back as they made their way into the racecourse.
The Royal Family were out in force again today as Royal Ascot racegoers turned on the style for Ladies’ Day with a show of sartorial flair and the odd outlandish hat.
Joining Zara and Mike were the King and Queen, Zara’s mother, the Princess Royal and husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, as well as the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.
Towering headgear inspired by Jane Austen, recycled creations and even fluttering butterflies were some of the designs worn by racing fans.
In sweltering temperatures, spectators swept into the famous Berkshire racecourse before the feature race of the week, the Gold Cup, with the winning jockey and trainer receiving their prizes from the King and Queen.
