Xbox Game Pass losing 86-rated hidden gem and one of the best narrative adventures

The past couple of months have been some of the best for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, although it’s not all good news.

While Xbox Game Pass subscribers can look forward to the likes of Doom: The Dark Ages and Revenge of the Savage Planet in May, Microsoft also plans to remove a number of titles from the service. This includes an 86-rated hidden gem, as well as a remake of one of the best narrative adventures in recent memory.

Indeed, from May 15, Microsoft has announced plans to remove Chants of Sennaar and Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remake from Xbox Game Pass.

Chants of Sennaar is a stylish puzzle game with exploration elements inspired by the myth of Babel.

“Divided since the dawn of time, the Peoples of the Tower no longer speak to each other,” reads the official description.

“But it is said that one day, a Traveler will find the wisdom to break down the walls and restore the Balance. Explore and discover an enthralling world in a colourful, poetic setting inspired by the myth of Babel, where men have forgotten their past.

“Travel the endless steps of a prodigious labyrinth, uncover an ominous truth and unveil the mysteries of this fascinating universe where ancient languages are both the lock and the key.”

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remake, meanwhile, is a single-player game in which you control two characters at the same time.

Created by the person behind It Takes Two and Split Fiction, A Tale of Two Sons features some fantastic puzzles, although it’s the setting and story that really sets it apart from the competition.

Controlling both brothers, players embark on an epic journey to find a cure for their father’s illness.

In addition to Chants of Sennaar and Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remake, Microsoft will also remove Dune: Spice Wars, Hauntii and The Big Con.

On the plus side, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Dungeons of Hinterberg, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn and the excellent Metal Slug Tactics will join the service on May 7.

This will be followed by Revenge of the Savage Planet and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed on May 8.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 joins Xbox Game Pass on May 13, followed by Doom: The Dark Ages on May 15, and Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo as a day-one release on May 16.

Finally, Firefighting Simulator: The Squad and Police Simulator: Patrol Officers join Xbox Game Pass on May 20.
