Call it the curious case of Brock Lesnar.
We will likely have to wait to get the true story behind what happened after Lesnar lost to Oba Femi at WrestleMania 42. The emotional combat sports legend took his gloves and boots off in the ring and even put the X up with his arms to seemingly indicate this retirement was not a work.
Though many didn’t fully buy it when it happened and WWE went out of its way to make sure nothing signaled that Lesnar was absolutely done, it still very much felt like a surprise goodbye. And if it wasn’t meant to be, then give Lesnar and manager Paul Heyman the Emmys that the Wiseman keeps pushing for because it was downright believable from an emotional standpoint.
That was until weeks later when Lesnar shockingly returned to attack Femi, who was waiting for a wrestler to answer his weeks-long open challenge.
