A woman has been left in stitches after a Christmas decoration blunder involving an item she bought from Temu. Rachel Kirkbride’s hilarious mishap has taken social media by storm, with an 18-second video showing her mum’s bewildered reaction to a rather unexpected delivery.

The clip, which has now racked up a staggering 6.7million views, captures the moment her mother unveils what she thought would be a festive wreath with a snowman. However, instead she received a piece of fabric emblazoned with a picture of a door and wreath.

Between peals of laughter, a voice can be heard questioning: “You thought it was that wreath on the picture, mum?” to which her mum humorously admits: “Yeah, I thought ‘Oh that’s nice’.”

The video, captioned: “When you buy a wreath off Temu” accompanied by laughing emojis, has sparked a flurry of comments from sympathetic viewers, with one sharing a similar gaffe: “My mum has done the exact same thing.”

Another swiftly decided to remove the item from their basket, while a third recounted a past disappointment from Wish, where what was supposed to be a mini pew pew build set turned out to be just a sheet of metal with a printed image.

However, some have criticised the shoppers for not thoroughly reading Temu’s descriptions, which they argue accurately describe what the products are. One user commented: “Does none of you in the comments actually read the description on Temu? Do you just see the pictures and think that’s what you’re buying.”

Another customer said: “I’m absolutely gutted because I’ve ordered the same thing thinking it was a door wreath not looking forward to it coming now.”

It comes after a woman expressing her disappointment after discovering her engagement ring was purchased from Temu. The 27-year-old was surprised when her partner of three years, aged 29, proposed. She accepted his proposal happily.

On Reddit, she shared: “I really liked the ring when I first saw it and my friends and family all think it is stunning. It’s an oval cut with “diamonds” across the band. I asked where he got it and he wouldn’t tell me where, but that he got a great deal on it.When she glanced over his shoulder, she noticed how he was scrolling through the Temu app. Curious, she asked him whether he bought the ring from the online marketplace – but he didn’t respond to her.

She continued: “I spent all night so confused. Today decided to download the app and look up my ring and I found one that looks identical. I found the exact ring and it was listed at $38 (£28). I am mad.”

Temu has been approached for comment.
