Woman's 'life-changing' £1 method easily removes mould from windows 'without scrubbing'

Cleaning enthusiast Shan took to the social media platform TikTok to share her top tip for getting rid of mould around windows.

The cleaning pro said she loves using Astonish Mould and Mildew Spray to remove mould, according to The Sun.

“It works like a dream,” she said. Shan showed her followers how to use the spray on mouldy window frames. The incredible spray cleans them off and makes windows look like new again.

You can buy Astonish Mould and Mildew Spray from Poundland for just £1 and Asda for £1.49.

The product description reads: “Mould & Mildew Blaster removes tough stains without the need for scrubbing, whilst regular use helps prevent return.

“In other words that’s less time cleaning, which sounds good to us.

“Try it on walls, uPVC window frames, plastic shower curtains, bathroom tiles, grout, silicone sealant, concrete, sinks and plugholes.”

If you see water building up on your windows, it’s likely condensation. Shan suggested opening windows for a bit to reduce condensation.

“It’s the only way you’re going to get rid of the condensation,” she added.

Shan’s video, which she posted on her TikTok account @cleanwithshan, has wowed lots of people, getting over 1.2 million views.

People on TikTok rushed to say how much they liked Shan’s cleaning trick in the comments section of the video.

One person wrote: “This mould spray was a lifesaver when I lived in a room with mould on all my walls.”

Another person wrote: “That stuff is fantastic”. A third person said: “That spray has saved the walls in our flat.”

Black mould is a type of fungus that likes to grow where it’s warm and damp, like in bathrooms and kitchens.

Mould can start growing for lots of reasons but leaking pipes, a lack of insulation and condensation are some of the biggest reasons.

Getting rid of mould is really important because it can make you sick. The NHS says black mould can cause asthma attacks, allergies and infections.

When cleaning black mould, remember to wear rubber gloves and a mask so you don’t breathe it in.
