Woman says ‘game-changing’ exercise helped her tone up

Maintaining an exercise routine can prove challenging as we get older, but there’s an application specifically created to assist mature women in keeping active, requiring just seven minutes daily.

Yoga-Go is a fitness application tailored for individuals over 35, offering beginner-friendly yoga and stretching routines. New subscribers can obtain discounts of up to 61% on their first membership.- A one-month “Yoga For Weightloss” subscription costs £12.99 whilst a 12-month subscription is priced at £44.99, working out at approximately £3.80 per month.

A report published by Harvard Medical School emphasises yoga’s extensive benefits, including cultivating “inner awareness” by channelling attention towards the body’s current abilities, reports the Manchester Evening News. The discipline also develops breathing methods alongside mental and physical resilience.

They cite studies showing yoga’s contribution to weight control and fitness preservation, stating: “Researchers found that people who practiced yoga for at least 30 minutes once a week for at least four years gained less weight during middle adulthood.”

The Yoga-Go application incorporates numerous features including personalised yoga and stretching programmes adapted to users’ age, fitness level and goals.

The British Heart Foundation emphasises that several studies have demonstrated yoga’s positive influence on cardiovascular health risk factors, assisting in reducing blood pressure amongst those with hypertension whilst simultaneously lowering raised blood sugar levels. Therefore, whilst utilising the application, users can choose their specific objective such as shedding pounds, boosting mobility, increasing flexibility or controlling stress, and will be provided with a bespoke programme which could include chair yoga, wall pilates or somatic yoga.

The fitness regimen doesn’t need to take up a considerable amount of people’s time as choices span from seven minutes all the way to 30 minutes. The application also features voice guidance, diary tracking and soothing visuals for users.

Should this programme not meet everyone’s requirements, other alternatives are available including Down Dog, which allows users to choose their duration, difficulty, aim, narrator and music before creating a personalised yoga session each time.

Another choice is Glo, an online yoga, meditation and pilates platform serving all skill levels.

Individuals who have utilised Yoga-Go have shared their opinions about the programme on Trustpilot.

One pensioner remarked: “Yoga -Go is a game changer to my exercise routine. In the past, I’ve walked as much as five miles a day and ate moderately, yet still never had a way to tone the body. I never valued yoga to be something helpful. Now at 69, I’m walking, eating carefully, and giving Yoga-Go a sincere effort. In my short trial, I regained core balance, realignment in my posture, as well as a better sense for meditation.

“I love doing workouts in the comfort of my own home, at whatever time works for me. Yoga-Go also allowed me to adjust the difficulty ‘up’ as I became more comfortable with the routines,” another user explained.

However, some people found it wasn’t right for them. One reviewer said: “Some poses were too hard, even at medium level. I love chair yoga. You need more interaction with audience, as an example, five alternate poses for the hard poses.”

Another user remarked: “Wonderful instruction based at my pace and skill. Makes it so anyone can do this. I enjoyed the demonstrator and the narrator. The gradual increase is a boost to my expectation that I will be able to perform the tasks. I always feel better after I am finished.”

The Yoga-Go app provides different programmes and workouts.
