A woman has claimed she was ousted from the breakfast area at a Hilton Hotel for donning an “inappropriate” outfit. But what was it that caused the controversy?
Saffron, who goes by @saffronmariexx on TikTok, showed off the attire, which consisted of satin-like structured pyjamas and flip-flops. In a follow-up video, she recounted that her hotel stay was meant for some “self-care,” yet she was taken aback when denied entry to the breakfast buffet around 7:30 am.
Saffron recounted: “When I got there, I was told I was dressed inappropriately.” She blasted the hotel’s stance as “absolutely ridiculous” and maintained she looked “cuter than everyone there”.
To regain access to the breakfast service, she “quickly got changed”. Nonetheless, she conceded that her second outfit featured even shorter shorts.
Reflecting on the incident, she chuckled: “The second outfit was actually worse than the first one.”
In the comments section, viewers were puzzled, querying: “Why would you wear pyjamas to breakfast?”
One user commented: “Nowhere allows it due to upholding a certain look. Some places even turn you away for wearing sliders.”
Another expressed disapproval of Saffron’s actions, stating: “You get dressed to go to a restaurant.”
A different individual pointed out: “It’s a luxury hotel, so they have high standards, and wearing PJS is a no-no.”
Others labelled Saffron as “lazy and entitled” and urged her to “have some dignity” instead of stepping out in her nightwear.
However, some individuals came to Saffron’s defence regarding her attire. One person remarked: “I don’t get why people are saying ‘why would you wear pajamas’ it’s legit a breakfast in a hotel”.
Another concurred, stating: “It makes no sense that hotels frown upon it, you’re still dressed.”
Although the specific Hilton branch where Saffron stayed is unknown, dress codes can differ widely. Generally, most establishments expect at least a smart casual appearance.

Given these guidelines, it seems likely that the breakfast setting was somewhat informal since Saffron could wear shorts, yet pyjamas were not deemed appropriate.
