A woman asked Pokémon specialists to examine an old binder crammed with collectible cards she’d found amongst her belongings in storage – and they were all stunned by what they found.

Whilst Pokémon cards provide entertainment for collectors and players alike, many remain unaware that certain cards can earn you thousands of pounds when sold.

Therefore, when one woman stumbled upon her childhood binder packed with her old Pokémon cards, she soon brought them to Deep Dive Games Athens for a valuation whilst hoping to uncover any hidden treasures within her collection.

The gaming retailers immediately recognised the significance of what lay before them and quickly started to record themselves browsing through her card binder whilst marvelling at the contents.

“Customer brought in a binder they found in storage. Asked if they were worth anything…” they captioned the TikTok clip, which showed them flipping through the card-filled folder.

“I need to send this to my Pokémon Discord channel so they just, like, lose their ever loving minds,” remarked one of the shop workers.

The woman responded: “I did not realise. I thought maybe it was a couple hundred dollars.”

The retailer continued by explaining that numerous cards he’d already spotted would garner £36-73 each. What’s more, their value would increase substantially if sold in pristine condition, which the binder’s cards appeared to be.

Her collection also boasted a first edition Charizard, which has previously fetched more than £221,036 at auction, according to eBay. However, since her card was in German, this could impact its value.

The collection also featured several shiny cards, alongside legendary cards, such as Crystal Lugia, and a first edition Gyarados card.

The woman graciously offered to gift the sellers a card if they spotted anything they fancied – but they politely refused given the items’ enormous worth. They went on to explain that some of the cards were easily valued at £220-368 each.

The gaming retailers weren’t the only ones in awe of the collection – as several viewers flocked to the comments section to express their astonishment.

One person remarked: “Solid $100,000 collection.” To this, the company confirmed: “Graded possibly 100k.”

“That’s retirement sorted lol,” another viewer said, while someone else said: “Jeeeez she’s sitting on tens of thousands.”

Meanwhile, a further commenter applauded the company for conducting such an honest assessment.

They added: “This is insane. She seems like a really sweet kind person I’m glad she went to you and didn’t get swindled by some bad person.”
