A woman decided to see how much she could get from Harrods for only £10 – and she was pleasantly surprised by the results.
While luxury department store Harrods isn’t known for being affordable, you might sometimes be lucky enough to find a great deal in there. So is it possible to buy something from there that doesn’t cost a fortune?
This is something Isobel Lorna wanted to find out, so she headed to the iconic venue during her lunch break from work to see if she could find a tasty lunch for less than a tenner.
“I’m on my lunch break and I’m gonna see if I can get lunch at Harrods for under £10,” she said in her video as she made her way over to Harrods and its popular food hall.
To her surprise, she managed to find plenty of options that were available to her within her budget.
“Seems like everyone is buying lunch at Harrods,” she said as she got to the food hall and showed how busy it is. However, this didn’t stop her from finding some food.
After jokingly saying that the £4,900 caviar was out of her budget, she made her way over to the prepackaged area. While in the aisle, she found a large quantity of salads and sandwiches.
Isobel ended up picking an egg mayonnaise sandwich with watercress on white loaf for a fiver. She then had £5 left to find a drink and a snack.
“Let’s get some overpriced water,” she said, as she deliberated between the mint and cucumber or dragonfruit and lime options.
She opted for the latter, before picking up a hot cross bun for £2.50. Then, it was time to see how much the lunch haul cost her in total.
“Let’s see if it’s under £10,” she said, before showing that the three items came to exactly £10 in total.
As she walked out of the store with her food, she said: “A drink, sandwich, and sweet treat for £10. Not a £4 meal deal, but it’s pretty good.”
People quickly took to the comment section to share their thoughts – and provided their own advice for saving money at Harrods.
One pointed out: “There is a £7 meal deal!!!” Apparently, this option comes with a sandwich and a drink.
To this, Isobel replied: “WHATTT!! @Harrods I’m coming back next week.”
Others urged her to try the £12 rotisserie box, which isn’t a bad option for those looking for a relatively affordable meal in London.
