A woke Bay Area city council is getting ripped online after wrapping up its Monday meeting in a flood of tears “in honor of Alex Pretti, Renee Good, and all the peaceful protesters of Minneapolis.”

Council members in Lafayette — one of the wealthiest communities in the country, with an average household income of over $300,000 — grew emotional toward the end of their meeting.

“I can’t do it,” one muttered before his colleague adjourned the meeting.

The two members visibly broke down with tears, their faces flushed red, and one covered her face with her hands.

Minnesota has been rocked by anti-ICE protests since the death of Good, who was fatally shot by an ICE agent when she drove her car toward him in Minneapolis earlier this month. Pretti was shot by a Border Patrol agent Saturday in the same city.

The Lafayette council was blasted on social media for their tears, with some claiming they lacked “real empathy.”

“If they’re honoring ‘protesters,’ where’s the same public honor and accountability for victims like Laken Riley?” one user wrote on X, referring to the woman who was killed by an undocumented immigrant in Georgia.

“Why was there no crying for all the loss of American life due to illegal immigrants?” another added.
