President Trump has been in the freshly decorated Oval Office for 100 days, and it has not been short of headline-grabbing moments.
In three short months, the 47th President of the United States has issued no less than 142 executive orders, the most ever signed by a sitting president in their first 100 days.
His mandate was strong and, after a decisive victory in November 2024, the nation was ready for him to deliver on his pledges to cut prices and boost jobs for Americans.
But while US stock prices soared in the wake of the election, things haven’t remained smooth sailing, particularly since his dramatic import tax policies unveiled in early April.

Opinions on the sitting president are about as mixed as you get. Chuck Schumer, the minority leader, wrote in a letter to Senate colleagues that “Donald Trump’s first 100 days as president have been 100 days from hell for the American people”.
And Leon Panetta, a former defence secretary and White House chief of staff, said he no longer has “any guardrails and deliberately selected a cabinet in which loyalty was the primary quality”.
Whatever your opinion of him, Trump appears to be enjoying his second mandate. In an interview with The Atlantic, he said: “The first time, I had two things to do — run the country and survive; I had all these crooked guys.
“And the second time, I run the country and the world.”
