Cam Schlittler will be on the mound for tonight’s Game 1, a little under one year since his breakout playoff performance in Game 3 of last season’s Wild Card where he struck out 12 over eight scoreless innings.

The Yankees’ Wild Card lineup revealed Aaron Judge’s fate: the captain was left off the official roster due to a right calf strain suffered less than two weeks ago. Judge still has the opportunity to return if the team advances beyond the Wild Card, but they’ll have to face the Red Sox without him.
Giancarlo Stanton and Trent Grisham, meanwhile, both made the roster straight off the injured list.
The Red Sox, dealing with injury concerns of their own, did include pitcher Garrett Crochet, who last pitched in late April due to a shoulder injury, on their official lineup.
This season, the Yankees narrowly won the season series against the Red Sox with seven wins in 13 games.
Whichever team wins the best-of-three series will advance to the ALDS against the Tampa Bay Rays.
