The UK is currently in its third heatwave of 2025, with temperatures soaring across the nation. However, recent weather maps suggest that the weather could shift soon with the heatwave coming to an end in just days. The maps generated by WXCharts using met desk data, show that the UK is on track for mild temperatures next week.
It comes as Brits have been battling with the scorching hot weather resulting in the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and the Met Office issuing an amber heat-health alert for six regions, from Friday, July 11 to Monday, July 14.
The end of the heatwave, according to WXCharts, will arrive Tuesday, July 15 – just a day after the heat health alert is lifted. The maps show temperatures ranging between 6C and 12C across the nation during the early hours of 3am giving much needed relief to those struggling to sleep.
The weather will then slowly pick up throughout the day with it reaching the mid-teens and lower 20s by 6pm. Southern England will experience the warmest weather hitting a balmy 21C in various counties including Greater London, Essex, and Hampshire.
Towards the north temperatures will drop slighty to and reach as low as 14C in cities including Newcastle. However, continuing further north to Scotland, temperatures will pick back up hitting the higher teens in cities such as Inverness and Aberdeen.
The Met Office also forecasts a change in weather making note, in its UK 5 Day weather forecast, of a complete change in conditions between Monday and Wednesday.
The outlook states: “Turning more unsettled next week with heavy showers and thunderstorms at times. Hot in the east on Monday otherwise temperatures dropping closer to the seasonal average.”
The cooler weather will continue in the days to follow according to the weather agency’s long range weather forecast.
It reads: “Changeable weather conditions are expected across the UK during this forecast period. Periods of fine and dry weather are expected at times. These settled spells could persist for several days at a time and are likely to be accompanied by plenty of sunshine. Interspersed with this will be cloudier, more unsettled intervals which will bring some showers or longer spells of persistent rainfall.”
