Victoria Beckham, the former Spice Girl turned fashion mogul, is said to have kept the same dinner routine for more than 25 years.

Her husband, David Beckham, 50, shed light on Victoria’s rigid dietary habits during a 2022 appearance on the River Café Table 4 podcast.

David said: “I get quite emotional about food and wine, when I’m eating something great, I want everyone to try it. Unfortunately, I’m married to someone that has eaten the same thing for the last 25 years.

“Since I met her, she only eats grilled fish, steamed vegetables, she will very rarely deviate from that.”

He recalled a memorable exception when Victoria was expecting their daughter Harper in 2011, saying: “The only time she’s probably ever shared something that’s been on my plate was actually when she was pregnant and it was the most amazing thing.

“It was one of my favourite evenings. I can’t remember what it was, but I know she’s not eaten it since.”

Yet, in an interview with Net-A-Porter, Victoria, 51, offered a more nuanced picture of her eating regime, painting a rather different portrait from David’s account.

She explained: “I’m flexible with regards to food, as David and I are very sociable, and we like to eat out. But when I do eat well, I see the difference in my skin – my eyes are whiter and sparklier and I have so much more energy.”

She went on to share her dietary preferences, explaining: “I eat lots of fresh fish, fresh vegetables and salads, as well as seeds and nuts. I also love fruit but don’t eat too much, as it can make me feel quite bloated.

“I am disciplined with my eating – that’s how I find I get the most out of my body. My treat is a few glasses of red wine, and I also love tequila, and I do eat carbs.

“I consume lots of avocados and really good fats, like salmon. With four children and a job, I work long hours and this approach works for me so I can give 100 per cent.”
