The Jets added Minkah Fitzpatrick and Dane Belton during free agency, but I don’t think that will stop them from drafting another safety.
They won’t take Caleb Downs at No. 2 overall, but what if he starts sliding? Would the Jets move up from 16 to take him?
He might be too tempting to pass up.

If they stay put, Oregon’s Dillon Thieneman and Toledo’s Emmanuel McNeil-Warren are the next safeties projected to be taken.
They could be targets at 16 or 33. A.J. Haulcy of LSU is another potential pick at 44.
The Jets drafted Malachi Moore a year ago and he’s in the mix at safety, but it won’t be surprising if the Jets use an early pick on a safety.
