Saiyaara has made waves at the box office since its initial release on July 18, becoming the highest-grossing opening weekend love story in Hindi cinema, according to the Times of India.
The film’s success, which has been put down to its strong connection with younger audiences, has thrown stars Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda into the spotlight.
Critics and viewers alike have praised their powerful performances and natural chemistry, with the film now available to watch in the UK.
The title refers to “a star or planet that moves across the sky” and it was chosen to reflect themes of “longing, eternal love and emotional distance”.

What is Saiyaara about?
By Yash Raj Films, the musical romance movie follows Krish Kapoor (played by Ahaan Pandey), a struggling musician, and Vaani Batra (Aneet Padda).
Vaani is a young writer diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease and the tragic story explores love, loss, and memory through the evolving relationship between the duo.
Their paths cross when Krish stumbles upon Vaani’s poetry and is inspired to turn her words into music.
As they form a collaboration, a deep emotional connection develops between them and what was a professional relationship soon blossoms into love.
Their romance is turned upside down when Vaani is diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s and Krish is forced to choose between chasing his dream or staying by Vaani’s side as she diminishes.
