Wetherspoon to open six new pubs in UK – full list of locations | UK | News

Withover 800 pubs and more than 50 hotels across the UK, JD Wetherspoon is likely a familiar sight on your local high street. However, fans of the British pub chain will be thrilled to learn that additional branches are set to emerge in 2025.

Wetherspoon has announced plans to launch six new pubs, with intriguing locations ranging from a repurposed industrial site in West London to a former 1920s cinema in a market town. Four of these establishments will also feature a pub garden for alfresco dining and drinking.

Despite witnessing an uptick in food and beverage sales towards the end of 2024, the chain made the decision to shutter several pubs last year, including The Spon Gate in Coventry, which was closed for ‘commercial reasons’ a spokesperson said at the time.

Nevertheless, new branches have already sprung up this year in places such as Marlow, Buckinghamshire, London Waterloo Station, and the Isle of Man – marking the first ‘Spoons’ establishment on the island.

In addition, Wetherspoon has entered into a partnership with Haven Holidays, aiming to increase the number of branches within their holiday parks. The first on-park Wetherspoon was launched last year in Yorkshire’s Primrose Valley, followed by four more locations in 2025, including a branch at Haven’s Devon Cliffs park.

A representative for Wetherspoon confirmed future openings at additional Haven locations, although specific dates were not confirmed.

The new ‘Spoons outlets will be situated in a range of intriguing locations. The recently inaugurated Walham Green, Fulham is housed in the old entrance building and ticket hall of Fulham Broadway tube station, with railway enthusiasts sure to appreciate the train-themed décor.

The Sun Wharf in London Bridge, another new branch, may ring a bell for those who’ve visited a certain family attraction in the capital. For 39 years, the building was the location of the London Dungeon, which relocated to County Hall on the Southbank in 2013.

While the horror-themed décor has been removed, the stunning brick arches have been preserved.

Beyond London, new establishments include The Chiltern, Beaconsfield, originally a 500-seat Picture House. The cinema first opened its doors in 1927, providing entertainment for moviegoers for many years.

It later became a Prezzo, which has since shut down, and is set to re-open as a Wetherspoons in December.
