Netflix has unveiled another tantalising trailer for the forthcoming Knives Out mystery, Wake Up Dead Man, but there’s even more thrilling news for fans.
The film, marking the third chapter in the Knives Out saga, sees Daniel Craig returning to his role as the brilliant detective Benoit Blanc.
Originally slated for a Netflix release on 12 December, fans were united in their desire for a cinema release.
In response, Netflix has now confirmed that the film will enjoy a stint in selected cinemas across the UK and Ireland from 28 November, following its UK premiere at the BFI London Film Festival in October.
The streaming giant hinted at Benoit Blanc’s “most dangerous case yet” and here’s everything you need to know.
The official synopsis for the film reveals: “When young priest Jud Duplenticy (Josh O’Connor) is sent to assist charismatic firebrand Monsignor Jefferson Wicks (Josh Brolin), it’s clear that all is not well in the pews.
“Wicks’s modest-but-devoted flock includes devout church lady Martha Delacroix (Glenn Close), circumspect groundskeeper Samson Holt (Thomas Haden Church), tightly-wound lawyer Vera Draven, Esq. (Kerry Washington), aspiring politician Cy Draven (Daryl McCormack), town doctor Nat Sharp (Jeremy Renner), best-selling author Lee Ross (Andrew Scott), and concert cellist Simone Vivane (Cailee Spaeny).
“After a sudden and seemingly impossible murder rocks the town, the lack of an obvious suspect prompts local police chief Geraldine Scott (Mila Kunis) to join forces with renowned detective Benoit Blanc to unravel a mystery that defies all logic.”
Netflix turned to X, previously known as Twitter, to unveil a two-minute preview showcasing the stellar ensemble cast.
Several fresh images from the production have also been made available.
Earlier in June, enthusiasts were swift to respond to the initial preview as they made a plea for the title to receive a theatrical release, even if only for a restricted period.
The first Knives Out was exclusively shown in cinemas during its initial launch whilst Glass Onion enjoyed a brief theatrical run as well.
One enthusiast remarked: “Knives Out movies are meant to be enjoyed with friends and family on the big screen.”
Meanwhile, another individual responded on social media stating: “Put it in movie theatres first. This time for longer than one week.”
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery will be shown in select cinemas in the UK and Ireland on November 28, before launching globally on Netflix on December 12.
