Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has thanked a number of European leaders for their vocal support following a heated row with Donald Trump and his acrimonious departure from the White House. In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), Zelensky retweeted messages from key European figures, expressing his appreciation for their solidarity. The move will serve as a remind to Mr Trump that many in Europe are still backing Ukraine.
Donald Tusk, former President of the European Council, was the first to be thanked by the Ukrainian President: “Dear @ZelenskyyUa, dear Ukrainian friends, you are not alone.” Roberta Metsola, a Maltese politician who currently serves as the President of the European Parliament said: “Your dignity honours the bravery of the Ukrainian people. Be strong, be brave, be fearless. You are never alone, dear President.”Prime Minister of Portugal, Luís Montenegro said:”Ukraine can always count on Portugal.”
Gitanas Nausėda, the President of Lithuania, expressed solidarity by declaring: “Ukraine, you’ll never walk alone.”
