Red Sox catcher Andrew Knizner has had enough.

The 31-year-old has exercised his out clause with Boston, The Post’s Jon Heyman reported Friday, making him a free agent after spending July with Triple-A Worcester.

Knizner joined the Red Sox organization on June 23 after being released by the Rockies a few days prior.

Though he signed a minor league contract with Boston, Knizner likely expected a chance to reach the big leagues before fellow Red Sox catchers Carlos Narváez and Connor Wong established themselves at the position.

Boston also acquired Adley Rutschman from the Orioles at the trade deadline, pushing Knizner further down the depth chart.

In 21 games with Worcester, the right-handed batter hit .316/.426/.494/.920 with two home runs and 16 RBIs.

While playing for Triple-A Albuquerque in the Rockies system earlier this season, Knizner hit .279/.371/.590/.961.

Already a capable defender behind the plate, Knizner could draw interest in a thin catching market thanks to his relatively strong offensive numbers in the minors.

The question is whether he can still be a significant piece at the MLB level after struggling with a .221 average and one home run in 33 games when he was last in the big leagues with the Giants in 2025.

One of the teams that logically could be interested in Knizner’s services is the Yankees.

The Bronx Bombers attempted to acquire a right-handed talent at catcher before the trade deadline, but struck out after the Twins decided not to sell Ryan Jeffers and the Red Sox landed Rutschman, even after the Yankees talked with the Orioles about the latter.

The Yankees also proved they are willing to take a shot on veteran backstops Friday afternoon when they signed Mitch Garver.

The 35-year-old, who was released by the Mariners earlier this week, joined the club on a minor league deal in a situation similar to Knizner’s.
