Use baking soda for various garden tasks – including preventing plant disease

Pour baking soda into the cracks where weeds develop. The baking soda can not only kill the weeds but can also prevent new ones from growing as well, per HGTV.

Freshen compost

If your compost is starting to get smelly, simply sprinkle a bit of baking soda on it. This will target and get rid of the odour.

Keep cut flowers fresh

No one likes flowers that wilt as soon as you put them in the vase. To prevent this problem, mix in a tablespoon of baking soda with your newly cut flowers.
