The US is reportedly planning to board and seize Tehran-linked oil tankers across the globe in the coming days – dramatically escalating its pressure campaign on Iran.

The military is preparing to intercept and take control of commercial vessels tied to Tehran, US officials told the Wall Street Journal Saturday — a move that could push the crackdown on Iran beyond the Middle East.

The aggressive planning comes as Iran tightens its grip on the Strait of Hormuz, attacking multiple commercial ships Saturday while declaring the critical waterway under its “strict control.”

The report comes one day after Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, claimed the strait was fully open — a statement that had been welcomed by President Trump.
