Novak Djokovic will return to court at the US Open tonight as he continues his search for a record-extending 25th men’s Grand Slam title. The Serbian will take on home favourite Taylor Fritz for a place in the semi-finals.
Djokovic was in inspired form during his fourth-round victory over Jan-Lennard Struff as he thrashed the German 6-3, 6-3, 6-2. He then revealed his daughter Tara would be unhappy with him as the result means he will miss her birthday party. The clash between Djokovic and Fritz will follow Aryna Sabalenka’s showdown with Marketa Vondrousova at the Arthur Ashe Stadium, with four matches scheduled on the showpiece court.
The action begins with a clash between Jessica Pegula and Barbora Krejcikova, with Carlos Alcaraz second on court as he aims to get the better of Jiri Lehecka in a rematch of the Queen’s final.
