US forces “disabled” an oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman on Monday after it tried to run the Navy blockade against Iranian ports, military officials said.
An F/A-18 Super Hornet jet fired at the Palau-flagged M/T Marivex oil tanker as it attempted to enter Iranian water through the Gulf of Oman, US Central Command wrote on X.

“[The jet] from USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) fired a precision munition into the ship’s engineering and steering spaces after the crew failed to comply with directions from U.S. forces,” CENTCOM said. “Marivex is no longer sailing to Iran.”
