A University of Georgia student miraculously survived a fall from the eighth floor of an apartment building, according to her father.
Kristin Sargent, 21, is recovering in intensive care with several broken bones after investigators said she fell out of a window while dancing on a couch in Athens, Georgia.
“She was talking to one of her friends and saying, ‘Hey, I’m alive. I can’t believe it’,” her stunned dad, Richard Sargent, told Channel 2 Action News.
“She’s a good fighter, and so she’s going to be OK.”
He added that the accident happened after the Georgia Bulldogs football team beat the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday.
Kristin, a senior studying finance and marketing at UGA, was in The Rambler building on West Broad Street in the famous college town when she fell.
The building said it was cooperating with investigators and reminded residents of safety limiters installed on windows throughout the complex, according to Channel 2.
