The University of Arizona suspended all Interfraternity Council chapters’ activities after an “egregious” number of misconduct reports, an internal memo obtained by The Post reveals.

As of Monday, university administrators had already launched investigations into roughly half of U of A’s 21 IFC chapters over allegations of physical assault, hazing, drugs and alcohol usage and “creating unsafe environments for our students,” Dean of Students Chrissy Lieberman wrote in a letter informing the chapters of the crackdown.

“The number of cases under investigation and the severity of the concerns is egregious,” the administrator continued – and noted that some frats were even being criminally probed.

The overwhelming influx of misconduct reports has created an unmanageable workload for Lieberman and her staffers, according to the memo.

“The Dean of Students Office is at capacity for the number of organizational cases our staff can reasonably investigate at one time, and every one of those cases involves an IFC chapter,” Lieberman blasted.

As a result, “these investigations will take time, and they will affect your ability to host events, participate in philanthropy, and educate your new members,” she said.

In the meantime, administrators and the campus police department will do their best to “take swift remedial and interim actions,” the dean of students vowed.

“We will do our part to hold every chapter and member accountable for their actions.”

Effective immediately, the fraternities were ordered to halt all organized activities – including hosting, attending, sponsoring or participating in any group events – until representatives from each chapter meet with Lieberman during the first of what will become recurring quarterly “mandatory advisor meetings,” according to the memo.

Each of the chapters “must return to good standing before any event can be registered,” the administrator wrote.

Lieberman wrote that several chapters remain on disciplinary status for violating U of A’s code of conduct during the spring 2026 semester.

She also stressed how “the value of the Greek experience is under scrutiny nationwide.”

“It is time for the University of Arizona Greek community to step up and set an example for good. It is time to have difficult conversations with each other and the members of the community,” Lieberman wrote.

“You have a part in what happens next. The time for change is now,” the letter concluded.
