When it comes to making people happy, jetting off on holiday usually ticks all the boxes for many.
After all, there’s nothing better than the feeling of the sun on your skin, sand in your toes and feeling like all your worries are miles away. If you’re looking for somewhere to spend some well-deserved downtime then you may just be in luck.
Travel influencers have said a particular area is like a hidden “paradise”, with one even claiming it’s home to the “clearest water in Europe”. On TikTok, a video shared by novu.travel urged people to add the destination to their bucket lists, and it’s since gone viral.
When you see how beautiful Albania looks, it’s easy to see why tourists are falling in love, as it looks like she’s walking along a beach in the Maldives. Over 770,000 people have viewed the video so far, and they’ve been left stunned.
Thousands of people shared their thoughts too, and admitted the hotspot looks stunning. The destination is located in southeast Europe in the Balkans, on the Adriatic and Ionian Seas within the Mediterranean Sea.
One person said: “Which beach is this? Going next summer hopefully.”
Another replied: “Why is it so difficult to book a package holiday to go there? It’s such an amazing place.”
A third commented: “Wow. I’m travelling to Albania this summer. Where is this?” Meanwhile, a fourth chimed in with: “Water is so clear!”
In the comments, it was confirmed the beach in the video is in Ksamil, but some people did have questions. Many wondered how safe Albania is to visit, though they admitted it looks beautiful.
Is it safe to visit Albania?
A lot of people deem Albania safe to visit, but there are some things you may want to be aware of. Government advice reads: “Relations between the majority Muslim population and other ethnic groups in Albania are generally good.
“The expression of extremist or anti-western views is very rare. Political and other demonstrations have been held in central Tirana, with some reported incidents of violence.
“Demonstrations can cause traffic diversions and other disruption. Demonstrations could happen elsewhere, and may take place outside the capital city.”
Some areas witness crime and violence, but reports of crime targeting tourists is said to be “rare”. When travelling, you should always take sensible measures to protect yourself from street crime, especially in larger cities and late at night.
Always be alert for pickpockets and bag thieves in tourist areas, on buses, trains and major public transport hubs. You should also be careful at airports.
