UK’s first hot air balloon pub aims to help ‘cautious’ Brits be more spontaneous

Three in 10 Brits admit they are being held back from living life to the fullest due to fear of being judged by others, according to a new survey. Two-thirds say they have never pursued their biggest dream because they always play it safe, with 65 percent describing themselves as ‘risk-averse’. The survey also found that over half of respondents wish they led a more spontaneous life, as a quarter feel trapped in the ‘daily grind’.

Meanwhile, the research by Beavertown found 45 per cent confess to being creatures of habit and label themselves as cautious, reserved, or predictable. In an attempt to shake things up Beavertown is giving Brits the opportunity to win a journey aboard The Skulloon Tavern, a unique hot air balloon that doubles up as a pub.

Set to take flight on Saturday, 23rd August, the unique experience promises to elevate the traditional pub experience.

Tom Rainsford, spokesperson for Beavertown said: “We are a nation of people holding ourselves back.

“But we believe life gets a lot more interesting when you stick your neck out, embrace spontaneity, and dare to do things differently.”

Over two-thirds of adults acknowledged that they stick to the same routine every August Bank Holiday, despite 46 per cent expressing a desire to do something more impulsive over the extended weekend.

Reasons for sticking to identical routines include fear of failure, mentioned by 30 per cent of participants, and unwillingness to step outside their comfort zone, highlighted by 21 per cent.

While a significant number of people find comfort in their daily routine and describe it as fulfilling, the majority of people expressed a desire to be more spontaneous.

Tom continued: “Too often, we stick to what we know out of habit or convenience but exciting things rarely happen when we play it safe.

“That’s why we’re shaking things up this bank holiday – with almost a third of the UK listing a trip to the pub as their non-negotiable bank holiday plan, we thought we’d give you the chance to enjoy a pint a bit further north of your usual beer garden.

“Why settle for ground-level plans when you can take things to a whole new height?”.
