Ukraine launched a large-scale drone offensive overnight, targeting multiple regions in western Russia.
One clip from Oryol appeared to show a flaming object falling from the sky, which some claimed was a helicopter. Russia’s
Ministry of Defence said 127 drones were intercepted, including 41 over Bryansk, 37 over Oryol and 31 over Kursk. Others were downed over Moscow, Vladimir and Ryazan.
In response, Russia launched its own mass drone assault on Ukraine, firing 108 drones across four regions. Ukrainian air defences said 93 were shot down or disabled by electronic warfare.
The UK and EU on Tuesday announced fresh sanctions targeting Russian arms suppliers, energy exporters and groups accused of spreading disinformation.
