Ukraine destroys 16 Russian oil tanks in devastating drone strike | World | News

Ukrainian drones have targeted and damaged 16 Russian fuel tanks at the Morskoi Neftianoi Terminal in Russian-occupied Feodosia, Crimea , on the night of 13 October.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces confirmed the damage to the Marine Oil Terminal on 15 October, noting that these were the tanks that had survived a previous attack on 6 October. A fire ignited by the strike was still visible from 25 kilometres away on 14 October, according to local media reports.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces emphasised the importance of the oil terminal in Feodosia as a vital logistical link for supplying Russian troops with fuel and lubricants. LIGA News reported that the total volume of oil products that could be stored in the tanks is about 193,000 cubic metres.

In separate operations on the night of 14 October, Ukrainian forces hit a P-18 radar station in Krasnaya Polyana in occupied Crimea, a drone control point in Oleshky in occupied Kherson Oblast, and an ammunition depot near Makiivka in occupied Donetsk Oblast, as reported by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Russia has reportedly launched three major attacks on Ukraine’s gas infrastructure within a week, according to Naftogaz Group, a leading Ukrainian gas company, reports the Express US.

“These objects have no relation to military goals. Russian terrorists are committing regular acts of terrorism, the purpose of which is to deprive Ukraine of gas, heat and light in the winter.

“The Russians cannot understand that we cannot be broken and intimidated like this. We support and protect each other. We will restore everything. We will rebuild everything,” declared Serhiy Koretsky, Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine.

Compounding the devastation, Russian strikes led to multiple deaths and countless injuries at a Kharkiv hospital.

Seven people perished whilst 57 patients required urgent evacuation following the brutal bombardment, representing another Russian offensive targeting innocent civilians.

The conflict has imposed catastrophic losses upon Ukraine, with estimates suggesting between 60,000 to 100,000 military personnel have perished and overall casualties approaching roughly 400,000.

The British Ministry of Defence indicates that more than one million Russian soldiers have been killed or wounded since the comprehensive invasion of Ukraine commenced on February 24, 2022.

This assessment corresponds with recent research by the US-based Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), which indicates Russian military fatalities could reach as many as 250,000, with combined casualties, including those injured, surpassing 950,000.

While precise casualty figures from the war are notoriously difficult to verify, independent Russian news outlet Mediazona has identified over 111,000 fallen Russian military personnel using official records, social media obituaries, and images of tombstones.
