UK weather maps turn icy white as Britain to be blasted by one last snow bomb for 24 hours

New weather maps have shown the UK is to be blasted with one more snow bomb before it warms up for spring.

Forecasters at WXCharts say snow will hit the UK at the start of next week on Monday, March, 25, and Tuesday, March 26.

Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow and Aberdeen could all see a smattering of the white stuff during that period while there is also a chance London and Southampton could see a small amount of snow on Tuesday.

Elsewhere Wales, Plymouth, Bristol and other southern areas of the UK are likely to see rain along with central areas such as London and Birmingham.

WXCharts says snowfall is likely to remain light, with only Scotland, Manchester and Liverpool potentially seeing deeper snow than 1cm.

But the Met Office did not agree with the company’s forecasters saying the UK was more likely to see heavy rain than snow.

Its forecast for Monday to Wednesday read: “Low pressure is likely to dominate through this period, bringing heavy showers and longer spells of rain throughout. Temperatures around average for the time of year.”

Over the weekend the national forecaster said it would remain windy tonight but dry up on Sunday morning when Brits can expect warm, spring-like conditions.

Looking further ahead from Thursday to Saturday, April 6, the Met Office says further rain can be expected although more sunshine is to come.

Its forecast for the period read: “Predominantly unsettled and rather cold with large amounts of cloud, areas of rain and blustery showers at first. Remaining rather unsettled with further showers into the Easter weekend, although a greater prospect of some drier interludes with some sunshine, and winds moderating for most. Temperatures trending up to above average for many too.

“Into the following week, continued unsettled or changeable weather remains the most likely outcome.

“All areas are likely to see further rain or showers at times, with some drier spells in between, but wet weather will tend to favour the southwest while northern, especially northwestern, parts remain a bit drier on average.

“Greater than normal chance of colder than average weather in the north, and greater than normal chance of warmer than average weather in the south.”

After that period the national forecaster said Brits can expect things to dry up and become warmer.
