As some parts of Britain brace for an incoming heatwave, six cities are due to escape the warmth with temperatures 10C cooler. New maps by WXCHARTS, which use MetDesk data, have revealed that the country is due to see soaring temperatures on July 1. However, not everywhere will get this slice of summer.

Many parts of Scotland won’t even hit 20C, while southern England reaches 34C. Inverness, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Belfast, Cork, and Dublin are all due to remain around 13C-17C. In England, it’s expected to be much warmer, with areas in the north such as North Yorkshire and County Durham hitting 26C.

Temperatures will be a few degrees warmer when you reach the Midlands, with Birmingham and Leicestershire hitting 28C-29C.

Further down south, it’s due to reach the 30s, for example, in London (32C), Surrey (31C), and Kent (34C).

In Wales, temperatures will be milder, with highs of 26C near Wrexham in the north and lows of 15C on the south-west coast.

Separately, the Met Office long range forecast for July 1-15 reads: “The wettest and windiest conditions are most likely to be focus across the in north and west, with a risk of some heavy rain at times, mainly over hills.

“Broadly settled across the south and east, although some rain may spread across from the north or west at times. Temperatures are expected to be near to or above normal.

“As is normal for the time of year, there is a chance of hot spells returning across the south and east, which also could lead to the risk of heavy showers or thunderstorms.”
