Temperatures are set to drop across the UK following the recent warm weather. The latest weather maps from WX Charts have revealed the exact date the mercury will plunge as low as 4C in parts of the nation.
The UK has seen a scorching 30C heatwave in recent days with widespread sunshine. The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and the Met Office issued an amber heat-health alert for the whole of England which remains in place until 9am on Monday (June 23). However, the situation will soon change with cooler weather on the way.
According to WX Charts, temperatures will plummet to 4C in Scotland at 6am on Thursday, June 26. Meanwhile, the mercury will be at 7C in Newcastle, 11C in Birmingham and London, and 12C in Cardiff at the same time.
The South West of England will see lows of 11C while the east coast will have temperatures of 13C on Thursday morning. The weather maps remain green throughout the day which represents far cooler weather.
By midday, temperatures will climb to 10C in Edinburgh and 11C in Newcastle. Meawhile, London will see lows of 15C and it will be 12C in the Midlands.
According to the Met Office long-range forecast for the UK, which covers the period from Wednesday, June 25 until Friday, July 4, there will be “rather changeable” weather conditions. A series of “Atlantic low pressure systems” will pass through the north of England causing a drop in temperatures.
The forecaster said: “These will tend to bring some occasional rain or showers, most frequent in northwestern areas where it may also be rather breezy or windy at times.”
