Britain is likely to be blasted by a 742-mile rain bomb as weather maps reveal the exact date when parts of the UK may see heavy rains. Weather maps from WXCharts have turned colourful on November 6 indicating the possibility of wet and windy conditions from Wick to Plymouth.
The unsettled weather conditions are likely to impact the temperature levels as well.
According to the weather maps, mercury levels are likely to stay between 3-5C bringing a bit of cold conditions to these areas.
The maps suggest that northern areas are likely to be the worst impacted. Areas such as Wick, Inverness, Aberdeen, and Edinburgh may witness rainfall up to 2-3mm per hour.
The weather forecast comes as the Met Office predicted “unseasonably mild” weather for Halloween for some parts of the country.
Meteorologist Tom Morgan from the Met Office said it had been “pretty mild over the last few days”.
“The rest of the week will generally see temperatures in the mid-teens,” he added.
“So, if we look at Halloween, it will be unseasonably mild for trick-or-treating, and often quite cloudy and dry – both by day and by night.”
Mr Morgan said next weekend will “likely be a little bit colder”.
“I wouldn’t rule out some snow showers in the Shetlands and possibly in northern Scotland,” he added.
The Met Office’s long-range forecast between November 4 and 13 reads: “High pressure is likely to dominate the weather across many parts of the UK during this period.
“This will mean plenty of dry and settled weather for most, although it may be fairly cloudy at times. Where skies clear overnight some areas of fog and frost are likely to develop.
“Southern areas are expected to be mainly dry during this period, while any more unsettled conditions and periods of rain are more likely to affect areas further north, particularly the north and northwest of Scotland.
“Winds will likely be light in the south, but there could be some spells of strong winds across the north and west. Temperatures will probably be close to normal overall, although some cold nights are possible at times.”
