A new UK weather forecast suggests that snow could fall in England, Scotland and Wales on Saturday, April 5. Weather maps from WXCHARTS, using Metdesk data, show wintry showers falling predominantly in Devon and parts of south Wales at 6am that day.
Somerset and Gloucestershire are also set for snow, according to the maps, as are six counties in Wales. A small area of the northwest Highlands in Scotland will also face a white downpour, the forecast says. Then at midday, the snow appears to calm in the areas mentioned. However, the maps show the wintry weather spreading to other parts of south England and the Midlands.
The snowfall appears most intense in southwest England, close to the border with Wales.
But much of the Midlands, including Birmingham, is covered in white as the white barrage moves further north to just south of Manchester.
In Wales, the snow also moves eastward towards Monmouthshire and other counties in the country’s southeast.

In its long-range forecast, the Met Office does not forecast any snow.
The service says that there could be “wetter episodes with rain or showers” while temperatures will vary. Overall, temperatures are expected to be near average.
The Met Office added: “Confidence is lower than normal, but blocked or slow-moving weather patterns are most probable through the middle of April.
“This can lead to slow-moving areas of low and high pressure and, depending on their location, this can result in periods of either dry conditions or wetter episodes with rain or showers.
“Temperatures will vary, with some large day-to-day swings possible, but overall are likely to be near average.”
