England, Scotland, and Wales are due for snow on Friday, according to a online forecaster, with the main flurries hitting in the early hours of the morning.

The snowfall is expected to arrive first in the Scottish Highlands, the Central Belt, and the Scottish Borders, before moving sourthwards over England and Wales.

The north-west of England could well see the heaviest of the snowfall around 3am, before the band moves south and east towards, the Midlands, London and East Anglia.

By noon the snow should have passed, leaving showers in on the Kent coast, while the rest of the UK should remain dry for the rest of the day.

Meanwhile, other areas of the UK are set for heavy rainfall. The main thrust of the wet weather will be found Wales and the south west of England.

However, that deluge is expected to arrive in the early hours of the morning. The Midlands, and southern areas of England may see patchy rain as the day begins.

Northern Ireland will miss the snow and the rain, with its precipitation arriving a day earlier on Thursday.
