The UK is set to be hit by scorching hot weather conditions as the latest weather maps show temperatures soaring to 34C. WXCharts maps show that Brits will bask in glorious sunshine on June 26, with many areas in the southern part of the country experiencing temperatures above 30C.
The maps show that areas neighbouring London and Southampton will bake at an unbearable 34C. Other parts of the country, such as Birmingham, Worcester, Luton, Liverpool, Cardiff, Leeds, Stoke, Norwich and Manchester are likely to witness temperatures oscillating between 30 and 31C during the same day, the maps have suggested.
The warmer conditions will begin to hit the country from June 21, with temperatures in the southern areas remaining above 30C for many areas, WXCharts has forecast.
However, it will peak on June 26 with maps turning dark red as the highest temperatures of 34C will be seen in areas around London.
Not only the southern areas but even some of the cities in northern parts of the country will experience double-digit temperatures, the maps show.
Parts of Edinburgh and Glasgow may see mercury levels swelling to 21 and 22C, the maps suggest.
The Met Office’s long-range forecast between June 19 and 28 reads: “Most parts of the UK are expected to be fine and dry at the start of this period, then a broad northwest to southeast split is likely to develop in late June.
“The wettest and windiest conditions are expected to be in the northwest, with spells of rain at times which may be heavy in places.
“It will likely be very warm or perhaps hot at first in the north, temperatures quickly becoming near normal or slightly above.
“More settled in the southeast with conditions drier overall, although some rain will probably spread from the west or northwest at times.
“There is also the risk that isolated heavy showers and thunderstorms could develop at times. Temperatures are expected to be above normal, perhaps with some hot spells in the southeast.”
