Millions of Brits across 11 UK counties look set to bask in near 20C heat in just a few weeks. This weekend, Brits were treated to a taste of warmer weather, with the mercury reaching 17C in London and Manchester as a Spring mini-heatwave swept the country.

But with temperatures falling below average in the upcoming week, many will be wondering when we will get our next taste of Spring sunshine, and sun lovers will be pleased to hear that the UK will bake between Sunday, March 23, and Monday, March 24. WXCHARTS UK weather maps have turned orange and yellow, indicating warmer weather is coming.

London, the South East and the East of England will see the highest temperatures, with the mercury hovering at a more than respectable 18C.

At 6pm on March 23, Cambridgeshire and Norfolk will bask in 17C heat alongside parts of Yorkshire and the Humber. London, Surrey, Suffolk, Essex and large parts of the east Midlands will not be far behind with highs of 16C.

Elsewhere, Wales will see the mercury around 13C-14C, and the south West is predicted to see highs of 14C. Western Scotland looks likely to see the lowest temperatures between 8C and 9C.

As we approach March 24, temperatures are set to climb a degree or two, with 11 counties predicted to see 18C at 6 p.m.

11 UK counties to bask in 18C heat:

  • Kent
  • East Sussex
  • West Sussex
  • London
  • Surrey
  • Essex
  • Suffolk
  • Norfolk
  • Cambridgeshire
  • Bedfordshire

Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, East Riding of Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire are all predicted to see some warm rays with the mercury set to hover between 16C-17C.

Powys will experience the warmest weather in Wales, with temperatures around 13C, while parts of south-west England could see highs of 15C.

In the Met Office’s long-range forecast for this period, the forecaster is predicting “above average” temperatures.

“The south and east could see the best of the drier interludes”, said the a Met Office spokesperson.
