UK hot weather forecast as mini November ‘heat bomb’ hits North of England | Weather | News

Britain is set to experience an unusual wave of warm weather in early November.

Meteorologists have forecast a mini “heat bomb,” expected to bring temperatures well above seasonal norms across much of the countr, according to a temperature anomaly map.

According to new weather maps from Netweather, even the northern half of England could feel the effects of this unexpected warm spell.

Some areas will potentially reach 17C – a significant anomaly for this time of year.

The maps depict a large area of Europe under a warm air mass, extending its reach to the British Isles and even as far north as Scotland.

One map shows projected maximum temperatures for the UK, with values ranging from 12C to 17C on November 7.

Meanwhile, a second map highlights temperature anomalies, indicating that these values are 6-8C above the typical averages for early November, which usually hovers around single digits in many regions.

This warm spell, driven by an influx of air from the south, comes as a stark contrast to the cooler weather generally expected in November.

Areas in northern England, which usually experience chillier conditions, are forecasted to reach highs around 15-16°C—more reminiscent of late spring than early winter.

Meteorologists caution that while these warm temperatures are not expected to break records, they do reflect a growing trend of unseasonal weather events.

This unusual warmth is anticipated to last for several days, potentially disrupting autumnal routines and keeping winter jackets in the closet a bit longer than usual.

Meanwhile the Met Office long-range forecast for the period between Novmber 3 and November 12 reads: “High pressure is likely to dominate the weather across many parts of the UK during this period. This will mean plenty of dry and settled weather through to the middle of November.

“Where skies clear overnight some areas of fog and frost are likely to develop. Southern areas are expected to be mainly dry during this period. Any more unsettled conditions and periods of rain are more likely to affect areas further north, particularly the far north and northwest of Scotland.

“Winds will likely be light in the south, but there could be some spells of strong winds across the north. Temperatures will probably be close to normal overall, although some cold nights are possible at times.”
